Meet the Team
Adriano Visconti
Senior Designer
Since graduating from Seneca College’s Civil Engineering Technology program in 2005 Adriano has been in the land development industry. Adriano has experience in a variety of developments including traditional low-rise and high-rise residential, mixed-use, institutional and commercial developments across Canada. Adriano has experience from the earliest stages of development through to the final stages, from the due diligence process all the way to as-builts and recovering letters of credit.
Adriano takes ownership of his projects and is committed to deliver the product on time for the client.
In his personal time Adriano gives back to the community through his work with the Knights of Columbus.
Alex Karadjov, P.Eng.
Partner
Alex has been working in the construction and engineering industry since 1995. He is known in the industry as execution driven with a passion for achieving results for his clients.
Alex’s experience covers all aspects of land development consulting, starting from the property negotiation stages through to permitting negotiations and construction completion. He has been the project engineer and project lead for over 15+ million square feet of constructed large multi-tenant developments across Canada. Throughout his career he has been involved in some of the largest commercial big-box developments in the country and carried out 100’s of due diligence feasibility analyses on behalf of the largest commercial developers and retailers in the country.
Alex has extensive experience in commercial land development, institutional, municipal infrastructure and residential subdivision projects including storm-water management from the planning stage through to construction. In addition, he has contract administration and field experience in road reconstruction, industrial and commercial building projects and residential subdivision projects.
As a co-founding partner at KWA, Alex covers business development, project management and the day to day operation of the company.
Alex is a graduate of the Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil Engineering) program at the University of Toronto, and is a Licenced Professional Engineer in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland & Labrador.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys skiing with his kids and traveling with his family.
Bailie Paplinskie, P.Eng., MBA
Team Leader / CA Manager
Bailie has been a part of the land development industry since 2011, specializing in approvals, construction contract administration & inspection, project management, and detailed design of site development projects across the country. Project focus ranges from industrial, commercial, institutional, and mixed-use developments. Her problem solving, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and understanding of client expectations yields projects to be successful from start to finish.
She is an extremely passionate leader and is dedicated to fostering an innovative and rewarding culture within her team to yield progressive solutions and positive results.
Bailie graduated from the Civil Engineering program at Queen’s University in 2011, Project Management program at Humber College in 2014, Masters of Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business in 2022, and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.
Ben Jackson, P.Eng.
Senior Engineer
Ben is a Queen’s University Graduate and Professional Civil Engineer that has worked in Land Development since 2014. His background includes onsite, design, and project management experience while working on commercial, residential, industrial, and high-rise mixed-use projects. He enjoys problem solving and providing value for his clients in a multitude of ways.
Ben enjoys chasing around his son Levi and golfing (during naptime).
Brendan Hickey
Site Plan Manager
Brendan has been a part of the land development industry since 2001, specializing in site plan design and due diligence investigations, all with the aim of maximizing the yield of his client’s investment. A veteran of the industry, Brendan has been involved in hundreds of commercial, industrial, and residential developments and investigations from coast-to-coast in both design and project management capacities. It is this experience, combined with his versatility, responsiveness, and true care for his client’s needs that have allowed him to develop long-term, trusting relationships with his clients.
Outside of the office, Brendan is an avid golfer, snowmobile enthusiast, and enjoys home improvement projects where he gets the opportunity to put his tools and handyman skills to good use.
Brendan is a graduate of the Civil Engineering Technology program at Seneca College.
Brian Choi, P.Eng.
Design Engineer
Brian is a Civil Engineer who graduated from Queen’s University in 2015 with a passion and enthusiasm for land development. Over the years Brian has worked on both residential and commercial developments all over Canada. He has experience in site inspections and contract administration, notably for multi-phase residential subdivision development project in Saskatoon from 2016 to 2018. Brian also has an international experience as an assistant contract administrator in Seoul, Korea. He brings unique perspective, disciplined work ethic, and can-do attitude to ensure the quality of projects exceeds client’s expectations.
After work hours, Brian spends his time going to live jazz concerts and swing dancing.
Brian is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.
Carlo Del Buono, P. Eng., LEED AP
Team Leader / Senior Engineer
Carlo is a highly accomplished Team Leader and Senior Project Manager at KWA, with extensive experience in low to high-rise residential, commercial and industrial developments across Canada. He is dedicated to understanding the unique needs and goals of each land development client, ensuring successful project outcomes. Carlo thrives on providing value and service for clients throughout the development process.
In addition to his client-centric focus, Carlo is dedicated to fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment as he leads and inspires team members. He takes pride in mentoring and guiding KWA staff, helping them reach their full potential.
Carlo graduated from the University of Toronto in 2008 and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario. He also holds a LEED Accredited Professional certification, highlighting his commitment to sustainability in the industry.
Elisangela Cossolin
Accounting Lead
Elisangela joined KWA in February of 2023 as our Accounting Lead. Elisangela has worked in accounts receivable in Brazil where she also completed her bachelor’s degree in Tourism. Keen to take on new challenges, she moved to Canada in 2009, completed a Postgraduate certificate in International Business Management at George Brown College and completed a Diploma Certificate in Accounting and Payroll Administration. She has been working in accounting for the Architecture and Engineering industry since 2014.
Fluent in Portuguese and English, Elisangela enjoys interacting with diverse populations and cultures.
Greg Glover
Site Inspector
Greg has been with KWA since 2021, after graduating from Queen’s University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. During his time at KWA, he has worked on a variety of industrial and commercial projects with a main focus in contract administration and inspection. Greg is dedicated to learning and growing as a civil engineer and is working towards his professional engineering license.
Outside of work, Greg enjoys attending his favourite sporting events and spending time with his friends and family.
Pavneet Brar, P.Eng., MASc
Water Resources Lead
Pavneet is a designer specializing in water resources. She has experience implementing a range of stormwater management strategies, including Low Impact Developments (LIDs), to effectively facilitate approvals for a range of residential, commercial, and industrial developments. She has a strong desire for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with evolving technologies and standards.
In her personal time, Pavneet enjoys the outdoors, travelling and reading books.
Pavneet graduated from the Civil Engineering program at McMaster University in 2014. She received her Masters of Applied Science from University of Toronto in 2016, with a focus on LIDs. Pavneet is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.
Reza Bagheri, EIT
Design Engineer
Reza is a Civil Engineer in Training (E.I.T), holding an honors degree from McMaster University’s Civil Engineering Program. With over seven years of experience, Reza specializes in the design of residential subdivisions and site development. He is proficient in engineering software like AutoCAD and Civil 3D and has two years of practical experience in land surveying. As a certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor since 2015, Reza upholds the highest quality assurance standards.
Throughout his career, Reza has worked on various projects involving storm and sanitary sewer network design, and site grading design, always ensuring client satisfaction. He has a strong passion for civil engineering, hydraulics, and mathematics, which drives his problem-solving skills.
Outside of work, Reza enjoys spending time with his family, engaging in outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and biking, and exploring his creative side through carpentry.
Rob Walker, RPP, MCIP
Senior Planner
A 30+ year veteran of municipal planning and land development.
Rob started as a planning technician in 1989 after graduating from Mohawk College’s Municipal Planning Program. His early experiences were designing residential subdivisions and managing aggregate license applications in Central Ontario, along with providing municipal advisory services to Townships within Simcoe County. He was actively involved with Canadian Association of Certified Planning Technicians as a member and President.
Rob returned to school and graduated from the Urban and Regional Planning program at the University of Waterloo. Shortly after he began work in the public sector where he took the lead in a Growth Management Study and Commercial Land Needs Study resulting in the creation of a first generation Official Plan for the Town of Bracebridge. He then returned to private consulting which exposed him to many new challenges including Niagara Escarpment, Parkway Belt and Regional and Local Official Plan Amendments associated with various development projects within the Golden Horseshoe.
Since 1998 he has actively participated and managed millions of square feet of commercial development across Canada. He has led a team of professionals that includes engineers, architects, surveyors, landscapers, environmental, geotechnical, traffic and legal colleagues that are actively involved from site acquisition to final construction. Rob has developed long lasting relationships with several of Canada’s largest retailers and developers who rely on his varied experiences and project management skills. Rob is a co-founding partner of KWA Site Development Consulting Inc.
In his time away from work he can be found on his motorcycle enjoying the back roads and travelling with his wife, family and friends.
Rob is a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
Rod Alderson, P. Eng.
Partner
Rod has been a Land Development Consultant for over 20 years. Starting his career from the ground up, he has had a chance to wear all the “hats” from Surveyor to Cad Designer, to Project Manager, to Team Leader, to Business Leader.
In the past 15 years, a large portion of his work has been on Site Development projects across the country. He has been exposed to almost every type of approval challenge a land developer will ever face. With this in mind, he is able to help anticipate challenges before they occur, which allows his clients to work around possible solutions ahead of time. He enjoys the fast pace and the ever changing aspects of site development and building relationships with his clients and professional colleagues. Rod spent a year on the development side in 2001, which left him with great perspective on how to think like a client, which is invaluable in anticipating and meeting the client’s needs.
As a co-founding partner, Rod is involved in most facets of the business, from business development, to project management to business operations.
Away from the office he spends his time with his family at their cottage and playing sports. Giving back to the youth of the community is something that he values whether it is in coaching or involvement in charitable events.
Rod is a graduate of Queens University (1994), and is a Licenced Professional Engineer in Ontario and Manitoba.
Ted Fair, P. Eng.
Team Leader / Senior Engineer
Ted is a graduate of Environmental Engineering from The University of Guelph (2011) and has been a Licenced Professional Engineer in Ontario P.Eng. since 2015. He has extensive experience in site plan land development engineering, working on all types of development within and surrounding the GTA. His project list includes over 100+ Site Plan developments. From start to finish he has expertise in all stages of site plan engineering, from due diligence to preliminary engineering, to detailed design, through to construction. His expertise includes analyzing design alternatives, due diligence studies, functional servicing reports, stormwater management reports, grading, servicing, erosion and sediment control, sanitary and storm sewer capacity analysis, and project management.
Ted has a proven track record of delivering projects ahead of schedule and consistently exceeding client expectations.
Ted has a passion for high quality engineering work, but also believes life outside work is equally if not more important. Ted looks to continuously learn and develop new skills and interests. Always growing and growing all ways. Some of his favorite activities are reading, music, camping, hiking, snowboarding, golf, swimming, cycling, cooking, football, rugby, nature, HIIT, nutrition, traveling, races, surfing, scuba diving, white water rafting, and all things nature.
Theodor Gheonea, EIT
Junior Engineer
Theo is an enthusiastic and meticulous Junior Civil Engineer in Training (E.I.T), with experience in commercial and industrial developments across Canada. Working with KWA since 2020, Theo has a wide range of expertise working on projects in various stages, from the design, contract administration, and coordination sides. He enjoys tackling new challenges, nurturing relationships and working with an ambitious team in the process.
Theo graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University, former Ryerson University in 2021 with a Bachelor in Civil Engineering.
In Theo’s spare time, he enjoys travelling, spending time outdoors and following his favourite sports teams.
